Buckeyes, a bit scarce lately, good to see them visit again.

Haven't seen one since Texas, just cabbage butterflies, an occasional swallowtail and lots of monarchs (the wildlife preserve by the bay has a lot of native milkweed).

I've spied one or two over the years but never knew what they were called. Butterflies are going crazy over the ironweed so maybe I'll see another this year.

Butterflies are going crazy over the ironweed I found an ironweed last year in a corner of a bed, and let it overwinter. It's now expanded and 7 feet tall, in full purple bloom --- and the butterflies are going crazy over it indeed.

Wheelgarden, before this year I never really noticed the butterflies being attracted to it but they're definitely enjoying it now. We spied four different ones on it the other day.
