Yes pepperhead212, hear that "seen" thing all the time and people even on the news say it. The people who say "like" every other word also drives me crazy!

My husband says You Know, after everything. Drives me crazy, you know?

datgirl, my uncle does the "you know" thing too. Mom shakes her head and laughs as he used to constantly get onto their younger brother for doing the same thing.

The likes and you knows give the speaker time to gather up their next thought before they speak it. Much better than blabbering whatever pops into their heads without running it through the brain first.

And public speakers who say "ummm" in every sentence.

I'm amazed at the "professionals" who use "ummm" in every sentence.

So we're going on a field trip to the zoo tomorrow and my daughter's teacher asks if I'm taking a stroller. Um, she can walk! Maybe we'll lag behind, but she's perfectly capable of walking! Hubby's aunt asked the same question yesterday but she hasn't been around my daughter much in the last few years and she did have a disabled daughter, but still quit trying to label my kid as disabled!

Maybe she was thinking of in case she had a meltdown and refused to keep going, if that has ever happened in her class.

Maybe she was thinking of in case she had a meltdown and refused to keep going, if that has ever happened in her class. In that case I'm assuming she would have contacted the parents of the child who has the meltdowns that sets off my daughter and another little boy with the same question. This teacher has very little to do with my daughter during the course of the day and considers herself above complying with the IEP, and yes it has been documented several times. In my conversations with her, I get the impression that my daughter and some of her classmates are an inconvenience to her. Her demeanor is similar to my third-grade teacher who would stand and scream at the class at least once a week. Thank goodness there's only three more weeks to go but unfortunately another field trip next week.

Her demeanor is similar to my third-grade teacher who would stand and scream at the class at least once a week. There are the bad apples out there, which is very unfortunate since they can badly affect children who are vulnerable at that age. They are also usually self righteous ignoramuses (being polite here).

gardendmpls, I agree. At first I thought maybe our personalities just clashed but then I see how the kids act different around her and I've witnessed her cruelty towards them. I've had three different parents question me about her in the last month because their kids will be in her class next year and they are dreading it.

I've had three different parents question me about her in the last month because their kids will be in her class next year and they are dreading it. My daughter had a bullying teacher like that. She would make fun of the students and be pretty nasty until the principal walked in. Then she would act all nicey-nicey. We complained and were ignored. A few years later a bunch of parents got together (the ones who paid full tuition) and she was fired.

Mumsey, evidently it's been going on for years. I spoke to the principal earlier in the year and her behavior immediately changed. Then we got a new principal and she's back to her old ways. I have a meeting with the new principal next week.

As a former teacher of young children, I would always take an umbrella stroller w me on field trips because you never know when little legs just get too tired. That being said, respect towards children is important. If you wouldn’t say it to an adult, don’t say it to a child. I’m no saint..sometimes it’s stressful but if you are the adult model good behaviors or take an attitude adjustment moment.
