I have room for 10 tomatoes. I am planting 8 varieties! Only one of which I have planted before, some wild colors.
Amish Gold slicer , Big Beef hybrid ( Lisaane this is for you) Dixie Golden Giant, 85-100 days, a bit worried, Wild boar Sweet Carnernos Pink, Aunt Ruby's German Green (hubby's unexpected favorite) Opalka, a paste that is shaped like a longish pepper, Wild boar pork chop a yellow striped, and a Black pineapple.
My salads should be colorful.
What kinds of adventures are you planting? Does not have to be tomatoes.

Lisaan talked me into Big Beef 3 years ago and it is truly a dependable and wonderful tomato. I have grown it every year since. It is resistant to a lot of things and it dependable produces lots of nice round tomatoes. I love my heirlooms but they are not always so dependable.
My adventure last year was the dry bean project and this year I am refining when we liked and skipping what we didn't like as much. I don't need 9 varieties of dry beans again this year. I am doing 5 varieties which includes a new one which is black beans.
The new thing for me this year is artichokes. I have 3 plants that I started from seed and I am just starting to harden them off today and trick them into thinking that they have gone through a winter so that they think that they are 2 years old and produce chokes for me. I would probably not have tried these but hubby bought me a pack of seeds and I didn't want to appear ungrateful so I planted them but now I am liking the project and looking forward to seeing how it turned out.
Last Fall I tried one of those tillage radish cover crops but I don't know the results of that yet. I will probably start a thread with photos on that project after I get my soil test results.

no, I went crazy at Totally tomatoes, but I bet they are the same. A private breeder, if I have the story right.
Opal says 85 days on my package, Octave. So I am hoping that is right.

The new janitor where I work, is also a crazy gardener, so I am trying the black pineapple from his stash of seeds. It kind of looks ugly in the pictures, so it had better taste good.
And then he gave me 3 seeds for an Alibaba watermelon from Iraq, that is suppose to be tops in sweetness. @ Brownrex - whatever you don't really like seems to grow best???

Alibaba watermelon from Iraq I thoroughly recommend that variety, have grown it for the past few years. Does well in our heat which is probably equivalent to Iraq, its also light coloured so doesn't get sunburned which some others do and then proceed to rot before they ripen properly. Not a problem with Ali Baba. Very productive and great taste, usually make a granita type drink with Ali Baba some ginger, mint and honey, very nice

I planted Jet Setter, Celebrity and a cherry tomato.
Watermelons? I had trouble getting a melon until I stumbled onto Charleston Gray watermelon. This one makes it here in this cool climate.
