Has anyone used rhubarb leaf tea to control powdery mildew? Can you give directions on how to use it?

I have used baking soda in water but have never heard of using rhubarb leaves. The baking soda changes the pH on the surface of the leaves and makes it inhospitable to powdery mildew, it does not kill it, just suppresses growth. Possibly the rhubarb does the same.

I've used both the baking soda and the skim milk with fair success. I read about it in a magazine in the Dr.s office but when I got out, the mag was gone. I don't remember the name of the mag.

I have heard of rhubarb tea for leaf miner control: 3 cups water 1/2 cup shredded rhubarb leaves. Bring to a boil and steep overnight. Strain and spray both sides of the leaves. I know that rhubarb leaves are not to be eaten. I would do a bit more research before using it on edibles. The leaves contain oxalic acid and posionous. A 145 lb person would have to eat 11 lbs to reach the 50% lethality. But who knows how much it would take if you were sensative.
I know that leaf miners are a tough pest to control.
i have not heard of it being used for powdery mildew. I use a tsp baking soda to a qt water. Use it until mildew is under control. You have to re spray after rain.

I like the baking soda solution better than milk because you can keep it in a sprayer in the garage and it does not start smelling like sour milk!
