I haven't fostered but I think the shelters cover costs for vet care, maybe even food. SpringRain🕊️, tempt tempt!

She is daring you to take her frisbee, centralilrookie. Or maybe she’s inviting. She’s really growing.

binnylou, after she fetches her frisbee or ball she does a little victory lap and pauses to chew on her toy before actually bring it back! 😂😂😂

As Josie grows her bravery and selective hearing is also increasing. She’ll bolt out the yard to chase joggers, walkers and bicycles in a flash. Therefore we are looking at a Halo Collar wireless system that you can set up boundaries around the yard to allow her more freedom but keep her confined. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of wireless system??

Don't count on any of these wireless dog fences to 100% keep your dog confined. I can't tell you how many dogs have raced right over the boundary & come at me while I was walking my dog. If the temptation on the other side of the boundary is strong enough, your dog may very well ignore the "shock" & just run right through it.

breezygardener, at $700 I would hope the darn thing would stop her in her tracks!! Price makes no difference. The ones neighbors have had cost them far more than that & the dogs would still go through if the temptation on the other side was strong enough.

centralilrookie, We opted for a real fence. Those invisible ones are great for some things, but it stops nothing from coming INTO your yard. But since you have a really large area fencing would be a big expense. I can see The Princess chasing a critter that breaches her space!

breezygardener, at $700 I would hope the darn thing would stop her in her tracks!! Oh, & I just remembered that a couple of weeks ago we encountered a lovely, very friendly, German Shepherd pup on our lane wearing an electric-fence shock collar. He was headed back to a new neighbor's property, so we assume that's where he lives, but that once again says a lot about how well these things work.

Josie got a whole new attitude towards the horses this morning! Today when we went to feed them she was really wound up and was pestering them nonstop. I was opening a bag of feed when I heard her yelp and looked to see her shooting out of the barn. Soon she came back in obviously more surprised and respectful than before. I’m glad she finally got her lesson with out getting hurt.

Josie sure is a beautiful pup. She very much reminds me of our late Aussie, "Blue". He loved to play frisbee and was always trying to get us or even the neighbor cats to play with him. Does she have a bobbed tail?

Wheelgarden, yes she does. I’m not sure how I feel about it but I’m sure that this 8 month old blue eyed crazy unpredictable pup is here to stay and we are making baby steps of progress in toning down her hi-energy level. It’s amazing that she can down shift from racing and jumping around the yard to gently taking a treat from our 20 month old grandson who loves her.
