Thanks! I signed it.
Besides appalling, it is absurd too. Another one of those "where has common sense gone" moments.

I couldn't help wondering if some of those opposed to it are in some way related to the seed companies...i.e., getting benefits for opposing voluntary seed sharing. One never knows what legislators are doing when they're not creating laws.

SR, I know what legislators are doing when they aren't making laws....they are stuffing their pockets with money from any source they can find!

Or hanging out with loose women, or looking at porn on the internet or sending out lurid e-mails, etc, etc, etc.

I was reading that in the latest MEN.
So, when we trade over the internet..............how does that work? Kinda like not having to pay sales tax for your State? No law yet?
I just can't give my next door neighbor any seeds? No problem, I sprout them first, and give her transplants.
My head hurts when I read this stuff..............hahahahhaha

Lisa, I raised some issues on imputed income and sales on the old forum and got blasted, so I'll leave your query on that issue untouched! But as to paying sales tax for internet (and/or phone purchases from out of state sources), Michigan sternly advises that residents need to pay tax or the State will shake its rattlesnake rattles and come after us. There's a line in the Michigan 1040 form for adding estimated tax on out of state purchases. These people protect their income - gotta make sure they can remodel their offices, as did the congressman who remodeled his office in the style of Downton Abbey. >:(

I go to a grocery store, buy a bag of beans and plant them. I buy a tomato, save and dry the seeds, then plant them. Same for peppers, melons, watermelons. I get my whole garden going with store-bought produce. It's possible. So what's going to happen to the grocery store? I suppose the only option they have to avoid fines is to sell seedless varieties of everything, and nothing else.

If we have to label them with germination rate, I suppose we could put 0% or above.
