The Princess usually loves people to death. But at the vet's she is shaking like a leaf. We go in, she automatically goes to the scale and sits. Then to the exam room. Her eyes get bloodshot, a sign of panic per the Vet. We go for nail trim about every 5-6 weeks. Today it was the yearly stuff, shots, heartworm test, the whole nine yards. Got her up on the table and she laid down with all 4 of her feet hidden under her. She bends her front legs to hide her feet! She knows the drill. She got 2 treats today from the Vet. She gets such a kick out of animal behavior.

Animals sense of smell is about a hundred times better than ours I think so it must smell totally horrible in the vet's office.
Just imagine how many dogs and cats she can smell.

With my previous boxer I carried her back to the vet who handled her litter(and docked their tails). When we went in she shook and urinated all over the entrance though she was house trained. It took me two more visits to decide that she had the right idea.
Never a problem with the current vet office for her or her successor Waldo. Neither of them cared for the "worm check" though and in fact tried to lock their tail nubs in the down position.

I think The Princess is nervous because we left her there for the spay thing when we first got her, it was an over-nighter. She seems OK until we head for the exam room. On our walks we stop there to make appointments or to just chat without having anything done.

Btw my current vet sits down on the floor and works from there . I guess it's easier than hoisting 70 plus pound dogs up. It works for her.

Waldo gets to go to the vet tomorrow. This time it's Bortella booster shot, and worm check.
