I'm currently using a clumping litter in the cat's litter box and it doesn't clump worth a $#&*. If you have a house cat, what brand are you using. I don't think I'm interested in the wood shaving kind. Thanks for any ideas.

Currently using Arm & Hammer clumping. Does okay, with two cats I am scooping daily. I could see using the wood if I had a space in the yard to let it decompose. Too many edibles.

As for the wood shavings, we have the space to let it decompose, but daughter used it for her cat and I thought he tracked it out of the box. Currently using Tidy Cat and finding that the clumps don't stay clumped. I'll try the A & H kind and see how it works. Thanks.

We use the one that is sold in bulk at Petco. It's called So Phresh Clumps really well and there is no odor.
you can refill your container or buy it in 30 lb tubs or 40 lb bags. The price moves around and sometimes it's cheaper to refill, sometimes the bigger containers are better value

Although, they've been strictly outdoor cats for a couple months now because they keep getting on the counters. That's a no no. .

She has me trained to not leave anything out and uncovered that she might be interested in. In order to keep her out of my downstairs recliner, I spread a space blanket over it. Maybe I need to put some on the counters until she loses interest.

My indoor cats are gone now - but my daughters (who keep many indoor cats) are completely sold on the Pine litter.
Binnylou - I make cat toys - would you like a couple? (the combination of chicken feathers on wool strings is irresistable). PM me!

We use Giant brand clumping, litter and I like it. It's a lot cheaper than the name brands and I don't notice a clumping problem.
I don't like our kitties smelling like perfume so I buy unscented.

Kitty has a toy that I made for her. It's just a simple circle of old denim, folded in half and stuffed with catnip and yarn dangling from each end. She can go for days without bothering it and then I will hear her playing with it, tossing it in the air, rolling on the floor and scratching the cr@p out of it with her hind feet. She is a killer. Thanks for the offer...she might enjoy a new mouse in the house. I'll PM address.

Karen, i'll trade you a hat, scarf or bag for a couple toys
I got a wild hair and attempted to make some with wool, I crocheted them tight using wool so I could shrink it, stuffed with batting. one, I crocheted a cover for a ping pong ball, so she can hook it. I washed the batting ones, so they shrunk and tightened, then I stuffed them into a jar of catnip overnight. She's so-so with them.

We need clumping litter, but the big concern for us is no dust. We have a cat with chronic URI problems and a human with asthma. A lot of cat litters are very dusty. The best no dust litter we found are Precious Cat and Cat Attract. The lady at the pet store said they are the same litter, but Cat Attract has a smell added that is supposed to attract cats to the litter box. To me, it smells like garden soil. It is not a perfume smell.

Giant is now carrying a new unscented clumping litter that is dust free. I have not tried it yet. Garden soil sounds like a good scent but I don't know why any cat would want to smell those perfumed ones. Yuk, and their sense of smell is so much more sensitive than ours.

I agree. The perfumed ones are gross. The Cat Attract doesn't smell strongly at all. I had to stick my nose in the bag to smell anything, and it was an earthy type garden smell. The cats do love it though. They dig and dig when the litter gets changed. And no dust!
