It's better today - a little less humid, high 60s, and breezy, so it's bearable. Rain total got to 1.15" yesterday - don't know when the .08" came, but then, I was in the basement most of the time!

Beautiful Autumn weather for the next five days. Blue skies, puffy white clouds, and no rain! This summer was very rainy, as we are currently 80+ inches above normal for the whole year. Really enjoying the low humidity.

Last night a storm moved right on in, lightening hit the substation and power went poof.

I'm sorry. I think I posted the wrongs stats. Our average is around 63-65 " a year, and we exceeded it already. I'm trying to find the accurate current above average total number.
Hehheh, the 80+ did seem rather high. lol. Sorry about that.
Although I will add that it sure felt like it. We got 20' in 3 hours a few months back.

desertwoman, looks like we are supposed to get down to 26˚on Friday morning...looks like it is time to break out the tarps and blankets and try to extend the season on the tomatoes at least.

A little nicer here today - yesterday was so humid that I did little outside, and late in the afternoon I had to put on my AC for a few hours, to suck the moisture out of the air, not because it was hot! Today, by noon the humidity was much better, a little warmer - about 72° - and it was very breezy, and later on I went outside and got some work done. Later, the sun was actually visible - first time in a number of days! Still overcast for a while, and getting hotter this week, up in the 80s.

Beautiful day…most welcome rainfall settled the dust for a few days…overnight low of 47*. Time to get a light blanket on the bed if we want to continue having a the bedroom window open overnight. All the better to hear the night noises.
update…rainfall was 55/100.

Heavy rain with lots of thunder and lightning arrived about an hour before daylight this morning. The rain has slowed but there is more on the way.
This may be the big drink our younger trees and perennials have been waiting for.
No farmers in the field today. 🚜

binnylou, Same here. It's been going on since 0500. Lots of thunder. Hoping for a break around 11-1200 so we can sneak in a walk! Much needed rain, now farmers are complaining because they are getting behind on harvest. Just can't make them happy!
