I spent yesterday stacking fire wood. We had 3 trees cut down so that was a lot of wood. Now my neighbors that wanted the wood just need to come get it. For them, happiness is several loads of free fire wood, right before winter.

Who says you can't have a colorful Winter garden? This is my leaf garden. It will be pretty until it snows! Those leaves will break down some over Winter, then I move them to the garden as needed. Easy storage!

Not my yard, but across the street at my brothers! One of the mother ducks and her little flock!

Deer wandering around...and leaves, glorious fallen leaves for the compost!

90% of the leaves have fallen from the maples, tulip poplars, sweetgums, and oaks...covering the ground. Now the winter colors stand out. Pines, cedars, hemlocks, cypress, and the understory beech (with their tan dry leaves that hang on 'til spring) are striking in the grey woods. Blueberries and St. John's Wort are flaming scarlet for the time being. Color still remains.

Leaves are gone except the ornamental pear. Pretty dull looking now.

The only thing going on in my yard at the moment is serious neglect - lol!

The only thing going on in my yard at the moment is serious neglect - lol! Same here. Still have chestnut burrs to pick up, leaves to rake, planters to put in the shed...

It's past the middle of November and I still have some flower blooms- lobelia, ornamental oregano and marigolds. They've seen better days but that's color I see out there. This is just too weird.
