Can you identify these spots yourself? Sometimes. You can search online and find pics of basal cell cancers, which helps. By going every 6 months, if I do have a BCC my doc finds them when they are really tiny (he has a special tool for detecting) And with that tool, he finds the pre-cancers sooner, as well.

I went back to the dermatologist today, to get some sutures removed, from when I got a cyst removed, a week ago, on my annual checkup. No other problems, fortunately, and this healed well.
My living room TV died today - I switched the tv with the upstairs one - that one works in both locations, this one didn't, so it was the tv. It was 8 years old, which isn't bad, considering what's happened with some friend's tvs in the past. It took quite a while to set it up properly, but I got it all done.
Funny thing - when I went out to get a replacement, I went to Best Buy, only because it is right across the street from BJs, where I was going to, but I figured I'd look at BB, to get an idea of prices elsewhere. Turns out, I only saw one 32" tv in the entire store! Large sections of all the brands, but all they want to sell are larger - most much larger - tvs, and, of course, much larger prices. I don't need or want something like that, so I was out of there quickly. BJs wasn't much better, but they had 4, which was a higher % of what they had. I ended up paying about $110 for this, a little less than the one 8 years ago, with even better picture, and more tech items than before, as usual, though most I have no use for.

More leaf raking at a friends house. I have 3 more 40 gallon trash bags full of leaves. Leaves were wet from a light rain last night, but I am putting these in a leaf pile to rot into beautiful leaf mold over the winter, so it doesn't matter that they are wet, whole leaves.
Now I need to finish raking up leaves here at home and add them, too, to the leaf mold pile. Beds are all tucked in for the winter.

one 32" tv in the entire store Some stores, if you ask, have the smaller ones. They just aren't on display. I helped neighbor find/buy a new one a couple weeks ago. We did Best Buy, curbside pickup. There were 32" choices online and in stock, prices comparable to Walmart. We are wondering if our very first flatscreen, a 21", is on the fritz. Recently returned to cable and all the channels refuse to come on just that tv. The channel search says they are viewable, but nothing comes on except analog channels and maybe a couple digital ones. It's probably 10 years old. I have a call in to our city cable tech guy. The city is our cable provider.

Dreary day yesterday, the only garden work I did was pondering in my head about next growing season. Not even a short walk. Too much ickiness out there! Put up indoor decorations, nothing elaborate, just a small tree in the 4 front windows. I did harvest lots of lettuce from the basement for a nice big salad. Fiddled around rearranging shop lights for better use of electrical outlets. Just a matter of reversing them so cords are on opposite side.
Went through fabric stash and organized my stash closet. Can't for the life of me figure out why I would keep such small scraps. Plus some larger pieces I know I'll never use, oddball stuff left over from mask making. I did keep some mask supplies, but greatly reduced. Made a trip to the junk shop and donated it, yes people actually buy those little scraps! Now that decorations are up I can sort through and donate what we haven't used in years. I hope to empty out a couple totes.
We ARE walking this morning. A balmy 38˚ with a little fog.

Learn something every day...Oh, lordy...oh, oh, lordy... I never had a problem with black cats, walking under ladders, or breaking mirrors...but today I learned that upside-down horseshoes were bad luck. I've always had them hanging that way for years. I didn't know, honestly. I'm so screwed. Woe is me.

Can't for the life of me figure out why I would keep such small scraps. I tried to upload a photo of some of my crumb quilt blocks. They ended up measuring 4 1/2" square and I believe one had 26 individual pieces of fabric in it. It was my first project and good practice for perfecting the 1/4" seam. ...today I learned that upside-down horseshoes were bad luck. Years ago I had one hanging upside down on an old outbuilding and was informed by my first husband's uncle that it was bad luck. Like you, I didn't know before that.

Ugh. Really feeling the effects of therapy this time but I guess it's no pain, no gain. It will be worth it if I'm not plagued with pulled muscles next gardening season. Looking forward to Thanksgiving and a day off tomorrow.

After hanging the horseshoes upside down for so long, it produced 2020. I hereby apologize, and have turned them up in repentance.

That sounds similar to the problem I had when I got my first and current flat screen, with a remote for the tv, which also wasn't allowing the channels to be viewed. I couldn't figure out how to get to them. Then I learned that the Samsung tv remote has to be used in conjunction with the Comcast (cable provider) remote. There's also a way to "set" the channels, which unfortunately I don't remember right now. I think I have the initial directions in my tech file, so I'll see if there's anything there that I can still understand and let you know. But to activate and view the screen, the Samsung remote has to be on, and the cable remote has to on as well. There are a series of "channels" allegedly accessible through the Samsung remote, but only channel 3 is compatible with the Comcast channels.

SpringRain🕊️ Yesterday, I re-set my comcast cable remotes to control my tv entirely, and once I googled "setting comcast remote to new tv" here's the link I got: www.xfinity.com/support/remotesHere, you find the model you have, click it, and it takes you to a page asking for the brand of the tv. Then, it gives instructions - mine was to hold 2 buttons down until a green light flashes, then enter a 5 digit code. They give a bunch of them - mine wasn't the "most likely", but the 3rd one I tried worked - I didn't have to go to the last one! Then, the tv is set to come on to hdm1 - it may be different on yours - and that tv remote is never needed again! Unless I want to use an option like correcting the picture, setting the alarm, or other things I don't use. Originally, the tv came on to "home screen", where they are trying to sell things to me, but once I set it to come on at hdm1, the last channel I was on shows when it turns on, since it is just getting the signal from the cable box.

perfecting the 1/4" seam. I have a trick to keep an exact 1/4" seam. Sticky magnetic strips exactly 1/4" away from the needle. Like this pic, since there is a slant on the removable bobbin access, I put a separate magnet. I can remove the bobbin access without removing any of the magnet strip. I like it long, easier to keep seam at 1/4". You can buy those fancy gadgets to attach to your machine, I saw one that mentioned magnet. That's how I came up with this. And the tiny scraps I was talking about were really tiny, 2" squares and some skinny strips! If one wanted to make a postage stamp quilt, those are perfect. Not for me.

pepperhead212 , SpringRain🕊️ , The problem with our TV, it's an older Vizio, was that it would detect all the digital channels and marked them as viewable, but would only allow ones associated with Ch 8 & 13 to come in. And those are stations from Des Moines, quite a ways away. I switched coax, same thing, rechecked all the connections, turned it off, unplugged it, re-ran the channel scan and so on. Then I got to thinking "interference". I removed the FireStick. Magic. It all works now. Funny though, because when this TV was in the basement, it worked fine with cable and FireStick together. Maybe it was because the TV and FireStick were now plugged into a power strip. That's the only difference between the bedroom and basement setup. DH was at the point, just go get a new TV. But I was determined to figure it out. I called the city utilities and told them I got it, saves the tech a trip here and besides, we didn't want anyone coming in the house. I'll just have to plug the FireStick in if I want Amazon or Netflix. Unlikely, I only watch this TV when I'm on the treadmill. Out of 100 channels certainly there is something to watch for an hour. We also have a Samsung, it was easy to run the channel detection. The cable does not require a box or separate remote, a recent update the city has made to the system, including all HD. Previously what they called Upper HD's required a box and was considered an upgrade with added cost. Now a box is only needed if you have extras like HBO, etc. So our basic is pretty reasonable at $36/month.

Mumsey, Thanks for the magnetic strip idea! That will work great on my older machines. I use a strip of credit card and double-faced tape on my newer one because it's all electronic. Truth be told, I'm not that wild about it unless you want a fancy stitch. Hubby bought it for me ridiculously cheap because someone had swiped the foot pedal. However it is light as a feather compared to the all-metal behemoths I love.

emmsmommy, Your welcome. Make sure it's the sticky tape kind of magnet strip, otherwise it may/will move on you.
