Walked at 5:20. Then watered all pots , planted yellow crook neck squash seeds. Started dishwasher. Got ready and went to dentist for extraction of the bad root canal tooth. Yikes. Had the nitrous this time. Took 40 min to get it out, root was cracked and shattered so had to be dug out. Iβm feeling it. Doing nothing since then. Ice and rest along with a little codeine. Left the laundry and dog tending for DH. Iβll be mashing some veggie soup for supper.

Mumsey, Hope you're feeling better today. Last week I spread a large piece of black plastic over the grass where I want my new rhubarb and asparagus patch. Yesterday I did some cleaning and accumulated enough cardboard to completely cover the cooked grass. Other than that, picked a handful of peas and decided to leave the rest for seed.

Oh, Mumsey. My teeth hurt just hearing your ordeal. Feel better soon and heal even faster. Today is my first batch of pickled beets. I thinned a couple of rows that turned out to be larger than I thought, especially with this hot weather.

Took 40 min to get it out, root was cracked and shattered so had to be dug out. Iβm feeling it. When I've had dental work on the back of the jaw, I am often unable to open the mouth wide enough to eat for a week or two. I use an immersion blender to liquify soup and drink the soup through a straw.

My Monarch butterfly was born today. Of course I walked away from the chrysalis for a few minutes and missed it. But I did see it fly away from the garden. I named her Barb after my friend that died in the house fire back in February.

Feeling much better today, no pain but tired! But still have to be careful not to chew on that side. And no nuts for a while. I go back in 3 weeks for bridge impressions.

Rested and admired the progress of the garden, as gardeners should always take time to do. Sweet. And..."number one" oldest grandson is on this way to visit. Sweeter. All good crops make you happy.
Like lisaann says, "I love this stuff!"

Finally got the new faucet installed in the rain barrel yesterday. This morning hubby went to buy a reel mower to resell and came back with 19 large pots/planters as well. I have some gladiolus I picked up on clearance and caladiums that need planted so will work on that this week. Most of the day was spent working on my mom's computer. Planned on doing a fresh install of Windows and had the wrong bit version disc. So swapped out her hard drive for another and have her back on the internet. Forgot how much I hate working on computers.

Forgot how much I hate working on computers. That's a tough one isn't it, when you're good at something but hate it. And bless your heart for helping out like that.

Started the day out picking green beans and then decided to pull the plants to let the ground dry out to replant again. Pulled a few onions and small zucchini. Gave the neighbor lady a nice bucket of all three. Bought a few groceries to complete our supper and fruit for sweethearts lunch. Supper was a cast of mixed veggies topped with Parmesan cheese and balsamic glaze coupled with turkey cutlets in panko breadcrumbs. Turned out pretty good. Hope Mumsey is feeling better and want to thank everyone from Iowa for sending us some rain. Tomorrow will be tending sweethearts garden and mowing at my house.

desertwoman, I think it's the time consuming part that I hate so much. It's actually much easier now than it was years ago since I can usually do a search online if I run into problems now, whereas it used to be more trial and error before. There's nothing I wouldn't do for my parents as they've helped me out plenty over the years and my mom's still kicking herself for falling victim to a scam. There's only a few people I do computer work for nowadays. Used to be everybody called when they needed something fixed but otherwise they'd barely speak when you saw them in public. That was a hard lesson to learn.

emmsmommy,My husband is an IT guy and he had the same thing happen to him. People would call him all hours of the day to come and help them with a computer issue. He finally wised up too.

Went out grocery shopping early this morning, & since it was Monday & we were at the stores just a little after 8 a.m., shopping was quick & painless, with nary but a few other shoppers in sight. One store had frozen whole bone-in turkey breasts on sale for only $.99/#, so snagged a nice 8-pounder that's now thawing & which we'll enjoy first on Wednesday, & then will continue to enjoy until there's nothing left but the carcass for stock.
Another hot day here, so rest of the day was spent doing some inevitable watering & indoor chores.
