Went to school today to help clean out the storage building used to house emergency clothing and ended up setting up a table and having a clothing giveaway this afternoon. Pulled Easter eggs out and the plan is to count them out per class and fill them in preparation for party and egg hunt at the end of the week. Was up at 1:30 this morning potting up kale and broccoli until 4:30, back to bed until 6:00 and then slept another hour after kiddo got on the bus and then off to school. Hopefully I get the cabbage and cauliflower potted up tonight.

I mowed my lawn for the first time this season today - not the entire lawn, just those areas the clumps were formed, due to all that rain we got, and even more in the back, which is probably the result of all the water from that pressure washing I did. Funny thing - the weather lady was just giving us one of those little tid bits of information, they like telling us: this has been the wettest March on record, for this area, since 1912! But, if we get 3/4" more (which looks likely), by the end of the month, it will be the wettest.

It was a snow day, so I did some book work in preparation for doing our taxes , while Quinn spent more time than it should take, with two insurance companies for a couple of his patients. Those insurance bureaucracies don't always make it easy to get paid. Then we needed to chill so decided to catch up on some viewing pleasure, watched a couple of movies. It felt good to give my body a rest after my 3 marathon days cleaning up the gardens. But I succeeded in getting it all done and fed before the snow/rain arrived. Now the beds are getting watered in and all that good compost nutrition is seeping in.

Potted up more Coleus yesterday morning and organized all the pepper flats on one shelving unit. I'm going to run out of room if I don't watch out!! The lemongrass can move to the floor between the units and still get enough light. The onions will go outside before tomato potting begins. Since Coleus are shade plants, those 2 flats can go to the floor if need be.
Spent the rest of the day hand quilting. Not starting another quilt project this season!! Though there are 2 on the burner in my mind.

This morning we did our annual/traditional Easter shopping for the local food pantry. I had a nice big spiral-cut ham coming to me free from our local Martin's, & I added to that with a slew of Stouffer's frozen lasagnas, 2 Pterodactyl-size smoked turkey drumsticks, & a smaller boneless ham. Added to those a lot of sides - Stovetop Stuffings in various flavors, instant mashed potatoes, canned yams, sweet potatoes, green beans w/ baby white potatoes, honey carrots, corn, smoked turkey seasoned mixed greens, & more stuff like that. And of course a slew of different flavors of "Peeps". I can't imagine kids having Easter without teeth-rotting Peeps. It just wouldn't be Easter. The food pantry folks were thrilled.

Finished cleaning and decluttering that rental house. It is ready to go on the market. I am so glad to be done with that place, that is until it's sold and we have to get the furniture out. I'm so tired, too tired to cook, so it's pizza tonight.

I got an acupuncture treatment at hub's office. I was so relaxed afterwards, or as we like to say...acu-stoned. Then did the big 2 week grocery shopping today. It took longer than usual - over 3 hours, as it was a big list. I ended up at 4 stores. Glad to be home.

datgirl, hubby's cousin passed away a few weeks ago and his mother has asked us to take the contents of his apartment. Not sure how I feel about that.

Back to school this morning to fill Easter eggs for hunts at the end of the week. Kiddo was wanting her mamma so I sat with her during lunch, only to witness one of her classmates have a meltdown that I actually feared would get physical. Kiddo didn't seem to care, which is good in a way because she'd have had a meltdown herself earlier in the year if that would have happened. Sad in another way because it's obviously happening enough that she's becoming immune to it. I've known the other child since kiddo started school and my heart goes out to him as his home life isn't great, but at what point is this behavior deemed serious enough for intervention?
Pouring rain by the time I came home but did set the flats of peas and favas out to get watered. Slept soundly last night and the cauliflower and cabbage didn't get potted up. I'm out of room inside and will be acclimating the brassicas and possibly onions to the kennel greenhouse soon. Told hubby to bring back my extension cord as I may have to run the heater in there a few nights. Good germination on all but three varieties of peppers, which ironically were the same ones that had poor germination last year. I know the Hungarian hot wax generally takes forever to germinate, but only giving them another week or so.

breezygardener, I've been tempted to try the Dr. Pepper flavored Peeps but suspect I'll be disappointed if I do as they're not my favorite Easter treat. I did cave and try the new Spiced Coke (having a BOGO coupon influenced that purchase) and if you ever wondered what Robitussin would taste like as a soda, give it a try. Passed the second bottle to mom and she agreed on the taste. Actually I thought the Sparkle Coke from last year hinted of pink Amoxicillin, so wondering what medicinal flavor they'll unleash next year.

Monday started out with an early morning drizzle but that didn’t dampen our day. After the morning chores our new mower was delivered, I then loaded our tractor on a trailer and took it to the dealership for routine fluid and filters maintenance. Hopefully I’ll have it back in a couple of days. With sweetheart hosting 3 of our grandkids, spring break, it was the perfect chance for me to finish repotting peppers. Also prepared a flat to plant cabbage, watered everyone and gave the onions a haircut.
Today we had day guests again, and it was raining , so it was a good chance for me to plant the cabbage and mix some potting soil with worm castings in preparation of planting tomatoes next week.

emmsmommy,It's such a daunting task. You may find some "treasures", but going thru other peoples belongings and cleaning up someone else's life is a lot of work. Good luck if you decide to take it on. Hubby finished getting taxes together, will drop that off later. We have 2 grandkids today and 2 different ones tomorrow. Not sure what else is going to get done today. I did manage to get a few more peppers potted up yesterday.

I've been tempted to try the Dr. Pepper flavored Peeps but suspect I'll be disappointed if I do as they're not my favorite Easter treat. I bought every flavor of Peeps Walmart had EXCEPT for the Dr. Pepper one - lol!! I just couldn't bring myself to do something like that to the food pantry - lol!! Personally, I hate Peeps - WAY too sweet for my taste, but they were one of my mother's favorite Easter decorations, so I buy a pack every Easter & keep them around as a sort of Spring talisman. I also fondly remember my father turning my mother's little marshmallow Peeps chicks into marshmallow Peeps "ducklings" by smushing their little faces when my mother wasn't looking - lol!
