I have a small bed that I've started with some Asian lilies as well as standard white lilies..they are multiplying but this year they are maybe a foot tall..still have the standard large bloom...it's just unusual. I'm wondering if perhaps it could be from the drier than usual past year? Or is there something else I'm missing?

How long have they been in? I have found that my asiatic lilies take 2-3 or so years to reach maturity and full size.
It's dry all the time here and they do well. It is said that lilies like their heads warm and their feet cool. So the plants should be in sun ( they will do OK with some partial shade) and the soil should be cool with mulch or some low growing plants or ground covers. They like a regular watering, so if it is dry, be sure you are supplementing. I water mine twice a week in our usual dry years.

Thanks DW...maybe they just need more water..we have a well so I don't water as often as IDE like. They have been in 3 years.

It does sound like a water issue. They will survive with less water, but not necessarily thrive. They should be fine for next year.
