I am desperately trying to grow beet microgreens without having a damping off issue. Has anyone had success in growing these, and if so could share any tips that may help me. I grow them now in flats, using a soilless mix. I germinate them indoors then transfer them to my greenhouse once germinated. Again, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've no experience with microgreens but would suggest reducing humidity and increasing air circulation.

Welcome to the forum! Not much experience with microgreens, but since this keeps happening with you, I would try sterilizing the soilless mix - either bake it at 200Β°, or wet it with a hydrogen peroxide solution, then let it dry out some, before planting. And maybe add some more perlite to the mix, to help it drain, so it doesn't stay so wet. I have also seen suggestions for sterilizing seeds, with a bleach solution - 1:10 - in case the pathogens are coming in on the seeds. Also, damping off seems to occur more at cool temperatures - germinating at 75Β° or warmer definitely seems to help.
Good luck, and I hope that you can stop that damping off!

mggs, Welcome! You will find good advice here, and already have. Any more questions? Fire away! We love pics too. What else do you grow?

Welcome! mggs, Chamomile tea helps with damping off. It has anti fungal properties. (it's high in sulfur- a good natural fungicide). Make a tea and spray-mist the seedlings and soil surface. Though not 100% effective it is as effective as chemical fungicides.
