I see we have a fair number of new members who have not posted. Okay, new members...don't be shy. You registered for a reason..you obviously have an interest in gardening...introduce yourself and tell us how you garden, where you garden.
We need and appreciate new ideas .

They could easily be lurkers. I know that when I've joined new groups/websites, I tend to lurk for awhile to get the "flavor" of a board before jumping in.

When working on unfamiliar cars, I've joined forums to see pics that you can only see while logged in. Maybe the same reason here? Join to read info, but maybe post later?

They may wish to ease into it...I remember when I first started I did reading for a good while before starting to post. I think as we get into the new season, questions will arise. Also, in the beginning I didn't start my own seeds nor even did things in a sustainable way, nor very organically but I thought I was. As I read here and worked in the garden, I learned it was hardly the organic way at all.

Sometimes you learn more by watching others mistakes?

and when they are doing it right as well. Isn't that what we are all doing here, learning and getting suggestions from others and sharing our own successes and failures

As a supervisor at my previous job I took lots of training and one thing we were trained on was Personality Training to help us to interact with different personality types.
It was super interesting and really was helpful but one thing that I especially remember is that when you are speaking to a group, not everyone will comment but that does NOT mean that some people are not listening or that they do not have an opinion. Some people are slower thinkers and some people just do not feel comfortable commenting in public or asking a question in front of others.
I think that the same theory goes here. We all have different personality types and some like to comment (like me) and some like to read and just think.
Since our forum is now open to guests I see that a few new people have already joined. I think that it will be interesting to hear some fresh ideas.
I really think that we will have the best gardening forum on the web.

I am fairly sure I must have lurked on theOG board years ago for a couple of years judging by the posts I remember vs my first post on there. I know I was learning a lot.

I agree, some people like to read and think about it, then post when it's something they feel comfortable doing.
