My point was simply that we in the organic community need to avoid acting like every correlation between pesticide use and some medical condition is PROOF that the pesticides are the cause. Correlation is reason to conduct further study, certainly nothing more. If we expect chemical companies to be held accountable and use sound scientific evidence, we should expect the same from ourselves.

are you saying there is no reason to look into a possible link because the increased use of a number of products also follows the increase in rates of autism?
I think that "looking into" it is a good idea as long as real testing is done to prove a causative factor.
Many children are currently placed at risk by not having vaccines because their parents think that vaccines cause autism. This was a study a decade ago that showed an increase in vaccines at the same time that there was an increase in autism. It was later proved false but many people have heard of it and are still convinced that it is true and don't have their children vaccinated against preventable diseases.
The Autism Speaks organization and the Autism Science Foundation as well as the CDC all agree that vaccines do not cause autism.
Not that I don't think that Roundup use is harmful. I just don't think that anyone has proven that it causes Autism and I hate to see people jump to that conclusion. I need to see scientific data before I believe something.

Our school began serving nutritional breakfasts lunches and snacks because we found that it reduced behavioral problems as well as feeding hungry children who skipped breakfast.
My point in posting the data Oliverman, was that it should make you THINK ...hum....maybe something's going on.?
If I remember correctly, there was a preservative that was removed from the vaccine that was found to be causing allergic reactions and in some truly sad cases, permanent damage. I still had my children vaccinated.

Thimerosal was the preservative and it may have caused some bad reactions but it was determined not to have caused Autism either.
Speaking of vaccinations, have you guys over 60 had yourselves vaccinated against shingles? My husband and I have.
Since most of us had chicken pox as children so we are at risk for shingles and the older we get, the bigger the risk becomes.
My mother got it and I know at least 3 other who have had it. It is supposedly VERY painful.
