Well I can tell you that my Dad and I had to dip 5 of them for bugs one time. We were buying ewes from this Polish lady(who did her own spinning and weaving) and she agreed to my Dad's price if we would dip her stinking goats. The 4 females weren't too much trouble though I was still in my twenties, We dunked them in a sawed in half barrel. Then came the stud! We fought and fought and never got his head under water. I told my Dad that the #$%^ was Catholic and they just got their heads sprinkled when they were baptized. To say we reeked would be an understatement.

Oh and I had to milk one of her sheep that had a stillborn lamb. She wanted to freeze the colostrum for when a lamb lost his mother. I tell you there is not a very long "handle" to grab on.

Gulfcoastguy, I like your sense of humor in the tales you tell. Tending goats is an adventure for sure.
Red, I have been absent due to wheat and oat harvest. Spent most of the last two weeks in the combine cab or a tractor seat. Worst wheat crop I have ever had. Hopefully the corn does better in the fall.
