To me, it has a sharp, tangy taste, almost but not quite lemony...as yes, a "green vegetable" flavor. Really good in a mixed salad, or on a sammich. And oh, tbird, I bet it IS good in a curry! It doesn't grow wild here, I plant it from seed every year cause we're quite fond of it, especially the grandkids. I've never grown the Golden variety, mine is usually Garden or Common purslane. A mysterious wilt has pretty much wiped it out this year, though. >:(

wheelgarden1 - would you like some of the golden purslane seeds? I rarely use the packet since I let them go to seed at some point each year and the volunteers are usually sufficient for me?

I should try them in salad -
those who salad - is it just the leaves - or the stems? the stems seem a bit thick for a salad. the stems cook up wonderfully, btw, but not sure about raw...

I eat the leaves and any tender bits of stem. If the stem is thick and tough, I don't use it.
