Hi OG Guy, I love cyclamen but I have never planted them outdoors. I have always just had them as houseplants. Since I do so much with plants and perennials, hubby does not usually bring me flowers. I always hope for some chocolate for V-day although but this year he listened to me when I was complaining about feeling fat and he didn't buy any chocolate for me.
He did bring home the Farmer's Almanac supplement on Gardening and took me out to a top notch seafood restaurant which I really enjoyed so I can't complain.

I always love the single rose. And that is what I get!
I also have a cyclamen as a house plant that has lived for many years. They would be treated an an annual here, if planted outdoors.

Actually, there are different varieties of Cyclamen. Some are meant to be houseplants; others are hardy outdoor shade perennials. I don't think you can successfully switch them out - at least not in temperate climates.

So are the hardy outdoor plants considered perennials?
Didn't realize there were indoor and outdoor varieties. Good to know.
