Son of a ### - brownrexx, this is my next stupid horse trick. My guy has no problem with the stairs, now to get him to squeeze in through the door...I mean, I have wood floors, how much damage could he do....

NC, do you ride your horses or are they pets? I lease a horse and in the decent weather I ride him 2 days a week for a couple of hours. I really enjoy it.

Brownrexx, I do not ride anymore. I bought horses because I was an active rider. Not a good rider, a really bad one in fact. After a couple of broken bones and multiple falls, I ended up having back surgery and my surgeon told me if I fell off a horse one more time I'd be back for a spinal fusion. So.....now I get up and sit on them quietly but we don't ride. Fortunately, I love working with them on the ground as much as I ever did riding, so it's worked out okay. This was filmed when I was doing my Parelli Level One videos.....Joe is the love of my life, but he is not a good riding horse. youtu.be/cH0-0FOI8oQ

OMG, that wasn't you I hope.
This past summer we rode the horses bareback down to the river on one 95 degree day and swam with them. It was a real highlight of my summer.
I have not ridden since November but I am anxious to get back to it. I mostly do riding on the trails and this year I am switching stables to one that is close to a "rails to trails" area that I am looking forward to checking out.
I don't do any jumping which many times ends up being the horse jumping and the rider flying!

That is indeed me, and my beloved Joe. I did a lot of bareback riding (probably related to my lot of bareback falling). I love the feel and movement of the horse, so even when I used a saddle it was usually a treeless saddle.

I watched that video again, now knowing that it was you. Ouch. that looked like you had a few aches and pains the next day!
What breed are your horses? They are really pretty.
I have not mastered cropping and attaching pictures so this is small but that's me on Guinness ( Am. Quarter horse)who I rode for the last 2 years. I will be leasing a new horse this year but I have not chosen him/her yet but it will probably also be an American Quarter Horse.
The horse in my avatar is a rescue horse I worked with at the Horse Rescue before I started riding.

My horses are Norwegian Fjords - if you can find one, get one! I started riding at 40, and rode mostly Arabians and quarter-horses. And then I found Fjords and never rode anything else. The amazing temperament, the short stature (remember, I fall off a lot and they are closer to the ground), the Barca-lounger butts - just phenomenal horses. And also, they look cooler than other horses.... Attachment Deleted

We live very close to a well-known Fjord breeder, & her horses are lovely.

Definitely NOT cute; not sure about weird. But yesterday our adopted 17-year-old pinking-shears-ratty-eared, one-eyed, toothless, can't-manage-to-dump-in-a-litter-box cat managed to knock a lamp off of an end table & crack our downstairs picture window stem to stern. Sigh. Actually, BIG SIGH.

Hubby used some very heavy-duty clear plastic tape to cover the crack for the time being. And no, cat hasn't been relocated. I don't believe in outdoor or indoor/outdoor cats. Our gang has always been indoor only. We've just scratched this up to the Sh*t Happens department - lol!

I was joking when I asked if the cat had been relocated...I knew you wouldn't do that.
