We all have stories of strange/funny things our critters have done at one time or another. Post them up.
So I have two cats (more if you count the gang of mooching neighbor cats that darken my door for kibble) Eeyore and Clarabelle. Eeyore's attitude is like his animated namesake. Basically, he is a cranky, complaining, grouch, sort of like his owner. Last Sunday was filled with chores with laundry at the top of the list. I had the side door in the laundry room opened a bit to let in fresh air and cool the room down. So by five o'clock I finished the wash, had cooked for the week, shut things up and sat down to fold clothes. Five o'clock is also feeding time at the zoo here and Eeyore never lets me forget that. I couldn't find him anywhere. So I fed darling Clarabelle but couldn't find E anywhere. Went around the house and called for him but no response. Even opened the garage in case he was in there. Nothing. Okay, wasn't worried, yet, because he is a cuss and prone to "Catitudes". When he didn't show up for the morning feeding I started to get concerned. There are urban coyotes around here and pets have vanished. After getting home from work yesterday evening and still not having him demand something from me I was very concerned. I opened every room, closet, back to the garage, around the yard calling his name. Finally, outside I heard a muffled "mew". My first thought was he had become trapped or entangled somewhere in the yard. I kept calling and and finally discovered he was trapped in a four inch wide space between the screen door and the side door by the laundry room. Apparently he was in there when I shut things down Sunday evening. When I let him out I swear he was grumbling expletives under his breath. Oh, and Clarabelle, although silent on the issue, seemed to have smirky snarky smile.

One day after work I was super tired and sore. My back was killing me. It took all I had to make it to the couch where I flopped face first. I wasn't gonna move even if the house was on fire. My newest pup (~2 years old at that time) came over, put her head on my back, and let out this loud long sigh. She then jumped up, and curled on my back until morning. I woke up feeling absolutely great! (I've had this pup since about 2 weeks old. I bottle fed her, and took care of her.) Attachments:

This will be one of my new vocabulary words - catitude.
I have never heard of that one before. Thanks Lat. Oh and poor Eeyore.

Thank you sandy Good to see you too. Good to be back. I'll be around a LOT more now that I can more easily access the forums (I can use tapatalk). Before, at the other forum, it was near impossible to navigate on my phone.

A box of 7 Lab mix puppies was discovered at the gat to the Humane Shelter yesterday. An 8th puppy , had got out of the box and walked 3 miles to the nearest McDonald's"To heck with this, I'm going to get a biscuit!". All puppies have now been adopted. I wonder if they named the 8th one Mickey?

I don't know if I've told our story on here or not, but here goes.....we have 6 cats through no fault of our own.
Our neighbor used to feed the feral cats in the area. So of course, a lot of them hung around the area. I had 2 mama cats abandon one kitten each here when they decided they were too big to nurse....one male black (Blackie) & one female gray tiger stripe (Sweetie). Since I can't see anything like that starve, I fed the kittens and tamed them down. I had plans to fix them and was waiting until they were old enough (age told me by a vet for "fixing") ONLY the female got pregnant before she got fixed and gifted us with 4 kittens! So the male went & got fixed and the female went when the kittens were 4 weeks old (as soon as they were eating food good). She weaned the kittens at about 7-8 weeks and then she disappeared for about a week. I went out to feed early one morning and found her dead inside a "cat house" we made for them. I think she was poisoned. I took all 4 kittens to be fixed, 2 at a time when they were 4 months old. And about 2 weeks after Sweetie died I had another kitten abandoned here! A cute, long haired calico, Callie! The others are a black male, Fuzzy, almost identical Siamese only gray strips where they should be black...male, Boy and a female Kinkie. And the runt of the litter is Squirt a female who is a seal tip/point! Callie got fixed as soon as I was able to catch her and hang on to her....she is still partially wild and only let's me pet her if I'm feeding them or taking out scraps. We have managed to get a nightly ritual going (most nights) where I pick her up and give her a chin rub and pet her for about 5 minutes and then she has had enough!
Squirt is my buddy. She will follow me all over the place and make sure I do everything the right way! Fuzzy spends most of his time across the road where an old house was left to rot & fall in and has trees and brush growing up around it and through it. Many times I won't see him for several days. But Squirt has taken up going over there during the days....and she brings something back nearly every day....she captures and carries back a leaf! Most of the time it is a big leaf from a sycamore tree that is over there. Once in while she will just bring a little live oak leaf. But we have been calling her our "mulch" cat. And Kinkie got her name cause as a little kitten she got her tail caught in the storm door and with my bad hearing I didn't hear her meowing...so it was there for a minute or two and it now has a kink at the end!
They are all outside cats!!! No more inside animals for me. They are all litter trained but prefer natural dirt to using the litter...but they will use it when it is raining and they don't want to get wet! And using the cheap totes I got at Walmart, I cut holes in them about 4-5" square and covered the edges with duct tape. Then I put down old rugs & towels in them for warmth & comfort. I have 3 of these so they have a place to stay warm during the winter and they will lay on top of them during the warmer months. One "house" even has an old fuzzy house coat of mine that the zipper broke in...and all the stuff gets washed at least once a month depending on weather and how dirty it has gotten!
Kinkie was walking across the front yard the other day. All of a sudden she stopped, looked up at a tall pine tree (60-70' tall) and the JUMPED! A pine cone fell and missed her by about 2"! I guess she heard it cracking as it broke loose.

Last week I was doing my morning chores in the house and I heard a kind of little "yip" noise from the dog. I didn't think too much of it, he is always getting into things so I went about my chores. Then when I walked into the main room there was white powder all over the place near the fireplace and on the furniture. I couldn't figure out what he had done or what the powder was. Then I saw a metal "key" on the floor and realized he had pulled out the safety of the fire extinguisher by the fireplace and then depressed the trigger and sprayed it all out. How he did that I will never know.

Waldo the boxer pup stole a bottle of Siracha asian chile sauce and chewed the plastic nozzle off. I bet he doesn't do that again after he got a taste.

OH MY GOODNESS, that reminds me of a puppy I had in the 70's. she ate several freshly rolled 'joints' off the coffee table!! (while we were out to dinner)
she was very young, 4 months maybe?
this age dog usually is exuberant and bouncy and all over the place when you come home, right?? NOT! OMGOSH she was on the couch and her tail barley wagged, and she could hardly pick her head up! I picked her up, and she was like a noodle! hahahahhah well... poor thing... kinda... :~)

Would hang out outside the window to catch a whiff! Of course I am not advocating the use of such medicinal herbs in pets. Toke responsibly! (FYI I am not a stoner or a user. Haven't puffed since my late teens/early 20's)

You two are cracking me up We had a cat who was fearless. Jackson aka tweezer One day we heard this huge commotion out in the yard. A dog was barking fiercely. We looked out and the dog was the the fence line with our neighbor's property. It was a double fence, so there was a foot or so between the two fences. The dog was barking and lunging. Jackson was up to her arm pits, through the fence, swatting at this dog as if to say "come here so I can rip your nose off". They were equally aggressive with each other and I don't think either of them would have stood down. The fences saved them both.

gakaren - I had to laugh at your "no more animals in the house". My husband is thankful the horses are too big to get through the front door... This year, one of our hens was hit by a Cooper's Hawk. Amazingly, she got away, and I found her cowering in the horse run-in, badly injured. I thought she was going to die, but I brought her in the house, fixed up the dog crate in my home office, and proceeded to nurse her for about 6 weeks. Because of the injuries to her head, she was on a liquid diet for 3 weeks, and hubby was less than thrilled with the constant whir of the blender as I pureed high protein meals. She has amazed us all by surviving, and has now rejoined the flock successfully. She lost one of her wattles, has damage to one eye, and a permanent problem in one wing - but is doing great, and back to laying. Don't tell anyone, but I kind of miss having her in the office with me. Thorin Oakenshield in the hen hospital (this is about 4 weeks after the attack) - all of the white stuff is from the yogurt which she loves, but flings around something awful:
