Went out between raindrops and found all this. Baptisia, Speedwell, Columbine, blooming Ninebark branches, daisies. The vase is so deep, I put one of those florist blocks inside the vase. I always save them from flowers DS sends me. This is the vase Mother's Day flowers came in. It's very heavy and very tall, 12 1/2 inches.

That's a beautiful bouquet. I am partial to purples/pinks/blues so this is a perfect to my eye.
Are those tall pieces the blooming Ninebark branches? I don't know this plant and I've never seen them before. But I like them! Is it a bush, tree or???

Yes, the dark tall ones are Ninebark. They are a deep reddish/brown color. The leaves stay that way all season and blooms are pink. It is a bush. The other tall ones with green stems are the Baptisia, kind of a blue/purple.

I forgot, I do have a couple of Iris blooming. The lilacs are done, lilly of the valley, done and like I said peonies will be blooming by weekend. I have a hanging basket of geranium blooming. I really like the spring flowers and kind of sad when they are done blooming. In a few weeks all my summer perennials will be blooming. Bee Balm, Daisies, Lilies, so thats a good thing.

gorgeous!
I love using what ever is around. I collect during my walks, it could be shrubs, trees, grasses, weeds, colors and shapes! anything that looks cool together! one time I made a bouquet for my neighbor, it had queen anns lace in it - I took it to my neighbor, she said: you know that's a weed right? hahahah
I love putting herbs into them too, and little chive flowers..................and....................
I have a bouquet going (at least 1) every day in my house. I stopped posting them, because I wasn't sure if you guys would want to keep seeing them. I've got snap dragons in the CG right now, and the mystery flower! (still not open - well, I havnt been there :~p)
here's my latest mini. that vessel is 1/3oz
I love that flower on the top, it's a mystery flower, I'm waiting for it to open.

That mystery flower looks like Kiss in the Mist, or Love in the Mist, same thing. Is it this? When it's done blooming, it makes the nicest seed head and can be used in dry arrangements. There's some larkspur mixed in there, the really light ones. Larkspur does well in arrangements, but tends to lose blossoms fairly quickly, like a couple days. Messy. If it is this, it will self seed like crazy.

ah yes! I believe so. I was on a walk in a different neighborhood as my friend was at the doc (that I drive her to the doctor) and this was - looked like - reseeded all over the place in this house along the street I was walking. this particular neighborhood was one of those estabilished ones, and everyones yard was so pretty!

Go back and get some seed, or I can send you some later in the season. Since you like to do dried arrangements, you would love this plant. You really have to keep on top of it when it starts re-seeding. The community garden where I belonged the last four years looks like a carpet of green because of these, larkspur and dill. I think they have smothered out most of the weeds! The only thing worse to control that self-seeds is Feverfew, though it has a dainty tiny flower like a daisy, gazillions of flowers per plant.
I am not doing the community garden anymore, but been watching to see who takes over my 2 plots. I have way enough to keep me busy in my own back yard. Plus fishing and spending more time with Dad this year. I don't even miss that garden, don't know where I ever got the time to do it!
If you google Love-in-a-Mist pics you will be able to see the seed pod.

Mumsey, that is truly a beautiful arrangement! You have an artist's eye for balance.
What are the lovely lilac and white flowers?
This year I've been treated to wonderful drifts of wild phlox in lilac, pink and white. They're a new volunteer and are quite welcome, so I'll be collecting some seed.
The Lunaria have also spread and another flower with similar leaves but tinier petals has volunteered to add to the floral display. I haven't figured out what it is but it seems to sprout voluntarily after lunaria establishes itself. I suspect they may be in the same floral family. Perhaps it's some kind of voluntary mutation?

The white ones are daisies, light lilac are columbine. Tall purple spikes are speedwell. The tall ones with what looks like little purple buds is baptisia. The very tallest ones are ninebark branches.
Thanks all, glad you enjoyed my bouquet! We have artists in the family, though I never really nurtured my talents other than in the garden!
