Hey brownrexx, remember when I asked on idig when fish pepper leaves turn variagated? I did eventually get some variagated leaves, but not many. My serrano and fish peppers are turning ripe now. I am enjoying my shishito peppers a great deal. I have 9 planted in my front flower beds. I also grow TAM jalapeno, they are very, very mild. They curve around the bed behind the goldenrod. They are really doing very well this year. I have getting a great harvest from the 9 plants. Looks great restless! A lot neater than mine, with all those weeds due to all that rain. I have some peppers starting to ripen - mostly the ones I started on 2-7, which is why I started them then. Very late peppers that I normally would not get ripe before September! But a few are getting a blush now, and there are always those Superchilis, which begin ripening before 7-4 every season.

Thanks! I think I sowed all my pepper and eggplant seeds close to Valentine's day. I do have the exact date recorded, but I can't remember it offhand. The spreadsheet is stored on my laptop.

I love the shishitos. I grew 3 plants last year and had so many, I could bring bowls full to friends when we went for dinner. I opted not to grow them this year, as I am trying Puerto Rico sweet peppers. (I have limited space) and the PR peppers are a big disappointment. I think I will probably go back to shishitos next year.
restless- I love the intensive planting in your garden. Excellent use of your small space!

Thanks. I grew three shishitos last year, and it wasn't enough for us. This year I did nine and was harvesting between 1 and 2 pounds per week until the week before the big storm on 6/23. It was really hot for a while, and then we had the very high winds during the storm. My plants did not produce flowers for a bit. So since then, the harvests have been more modest. They are back climbing in the right direction now!

restless have you tried those fish peppers yet? The plants were really pretty but OMG, they were HOT at my house last year.
DW - I hope that we all get at least a few of those PR peppers to taste. So far mine are a disappointment too. Pretty plants but no peppers so far.

The Fish peppers are about as hot as a Serrano to me. It is about the level of heat I am looking for. In a hot chili. I use them pretty often. I use the TAM jalapenos like bell peppers in my cooking. They hardly have any heat.

Because of cool weather here lately, my peppers are just not doing well. Three out of 10 have flowers. One of the Anaheim actually has a pepper. I found a couple of WOWs in the greenhouse that I had forgotten about. Going to try a create a microclimate for some of the worst looking plants. Nothing to lose right? Actually warm and sunny today so maybe they will start to perk up and produce.
