If you grow it once you have it forever! That's my experience too.

I'm still amazed that the red epazote is still growing out there, even after that frost! In a couple of nights, we will be getting a freeze, which will finally do these in.

I was coming in from a doctor's appt., and saw that epazote still growing, and I still can't believe it. I can't bring myself to waste it, so I cut it all off, and brought it inside. However, I have it growing in the hydroponics, so I don't really need it, so I took it up to the owner of the Mexican grocery/restaurant in town, because I know he loves it, and puts it to good use. Here is the seedy tip end of my minty epazote (a polymorphous American wormseed). The regular wormseed has long ago run to seed and died. I saved leaves from it for seasoning. This minty wormseed is my latest toy. I do not like the flavor but found I could make a useful liniment from it.

Highly recommended by my Mexican-American friends, I've made three attempts at direct-seeding epazote --- all failures. Ah, but fortunately, I've now got my indoor seed-sprouting light table handy to try it again. And I will, dag-nabbit.
