Same container, pea, that we've been using for years. I've always had a little bit of mold now and then and also think of it as "that's what compost does". This is a LOT of mold. It looks like piles of cotton balls on top of a little kitchen waste.
I'm going to give it a good bleach soak tomorrow, scrub it thoroughly in all it's crevices, dry it out well and see what happens.
All of this discussion has me thinking about spores in a way I haven't before; about how they might 'travel'.

Unless you live in a HEPA filtered environment, spores will always be in the air and when they find the right conditions (aka moisture), they will grow.
