Lat - can't wait to see your pictures. FarmerKevin - we see a lot of these - pit/lab mixes and they are generally just wonderful dogs.

But I could tell there was a sweetheart hiding behind those scared eyes. Lucky dog!

Kevin, she's beautiful. Love, love love that face. Laid down at my grammas on the couch. Guess who can to lay by me. I know this looks like a bad pic, but she is smiling. I was petting her for at least a half hour straight. The whole time, she kept smiling Attachments:

Lat33 - how are Eore and Bella taking this addition to the family?

Eeyore established his dominance from the start and Miss Clarabelle has been a total DIVA (again), intentionally tormenting Hazel at every opportunity.

I am now up to four (!) dogs, thanks to idiots dumping animals along rural gravel roads (such as the one in my neighborhood) and to the shelters overflowing with unwanted animals. I brought the latest stray into the local animal shelter to get scanned for a microchip and to see if anybody had called/dropped by to inquire if they had picked her up, as she was a young, friendly, healthy-looking gal...I though maybe somebody had lost her. The shelter acted as though it was a HUGE inconvenience for them to take 60 seconds to scan for a chip (she didn't have one). They immediately informed me that they didn't have room for her with a dismissive attitude. When I asked if I could leave my contact information so if the owner did come looking for her, they'd know how to find me, they again acted as though I had made the most ridiculous request in the world.
So I am up to two strays and two I adopted (one from an accidental litter, one from a family that had to re-home the dog due to it being skittish around kids).

This is Stephen with our white collie, Zeus, and our rescue from last year, Max who is a long haired dachshund. He is 13 ish. He has really settled in well now and walks the full 2 miles with me in the morning. When he feels like it that is, otherwise he just refuses to go. Poor Max both his previous owners have now passed on. When we first got him he kept going to the car as if he was trying to get us to bring him back home. Now he is happy as a lark at our house and loves roaming around outside.

! He has really settled in well now and walks the full 2 miles with me in the morning. That's a great jaunt for 13 yr old. Is Stephen your son? You take him for the walk with you, too? Max looks like he found the best spot in the world! Great photo of all

Yes Stephen is my son and he walks too. Max can "ride" if he does not want to walk.
