Animals have definitely been consuming my time lately - the garden is on autopilot! My three dogs are all rescues - they all just appeared on our property. That's a lot of dogs. I began volunteering this year at an Animal Rescue, so it is no surprise I have now adopted another dog. I work at the Adoption Days, everyone wants the puppies, which is great. But there are so many wonderful older dogs that nobody wants. So we brought home Ansel - he is 5, and they found him and his litter as puppies. The rest of the litter were adopted out, but not Ansel. So he has been living in a kennel at the rescue for five years. He's been with us a week and is just wonderful so far. Have not let him loose with the chickens out, he seems a bit poultry aggressive. And our ewe made it very clear to him that the sheep are off limits.

Once he learns the ropes at your house he will be a good addition! Thank you for rescuing him!

brown - I am hoping to do some miniature horse rescues, but just don't have the physical stamina to take on full sized equines!!

My trainer bought minis for her 2 kids at Christmas and they are at the stable where I ride. They are adorable! I had never seen a mini up close before. I wonder how many of them you will "adopt"?

My sister has 2 mini horses behind her house. This past weekend she can home late from her quilting/fabric store(after her shift as a nurse). Right before she opened the door she heard a grunting. She walked around the house just in time to see Buttercup plop one out. A little filly foal.

Very good timing since she didn't even know that Buttercup was pregnant.

Recently, was introduced to a beautiful, uber intelligent, auburn, female...Chocolate Lab/Pointer mix and I was immediately smitten. Will post pics later of Hazel. Truth be told, the question clearly is, "Who rescued who?"

Rescues make the best pets Picked up this vicious girl a few months ago. I was working at a horse ranch, and they dropped her off. Said she was a lab. She obviously isn't a lab haha. Everyone was scared of her. Heck, she bit 1 guy twice, and another guy once. But I could tell there was a sweetheart hiding behind those scared eyes. Now she resides with my mom and gramma. She is always getting compliments when my grammas nurses come and go. Her name is Miley and she just turned 5 Attachments:
