This year, because of 30+ inches of rain, I've had a lot of flowers self-seed in the front yard, more than usual. Many are now blooming creating a meadow-like appearance. Very, very pretty. The ones that come back every year regardless of rainfall, are California poppies, Calendula, a little native fiddle-neck (Amsinckia)(brought in with some local horse manure). and baby blue Nigella. Also existing perennials, Feverfew, and Mexican sage (Ultramarine blue flowers), and 'annual' Statice from last year (blue, pink, and light yellow). In addition this year there are some 'annual' Scabiosa (perennial here), some sweet pea vines (white, pink, red and blue), and a scant few snap dragons. Surprisingly, not one Zinnia or Rudbeckia - probably because of the flocks of quail that wander through every year. And lots of weeds, esp Mediterranean grasses. Hard to weed around so many developing flower plants. At least I've reclaimed 2 paths, but a third is now a solid bed of yellow Calendula, Cal poppies, and blue nigella with virtually no weeds mixed in, so that will stay for now. What flowers come back in your garden every year?

Does it make it even more painful to mow?

Cosmos, sunflowers, bachelor buttons, marigolds, larkspur, echinacea, hesperis (dames rocket), California poppies, sometimes snapdragons, lobelia,
But I have to make sure to water the beds if we haven't had much snow to get them going.

Centauria montana (Mountain Cornflower) with a vengeance, Goldenrod, California and Icelandic poppies, Ladies Mantle. I look at them as free plants. Can pull out what I don't want.

I'm lucky enough to have a bunch of wildflowers that come back every year in my yard. Primrose, Echinacea, and Hollyhock are some of my favorites, and they all seem to come back good as new each year.

I have some wild phlox & wild Morning Glory that's been reseeding from a packet of seed that was given to us by the Title Company when we closed on our house in 1996. Go figure.
I also have Columbine reseeding - the wild red type as well as cultivated "Guinness" - every year, which are nice.
And while not a "reseeder", I also have lovely Variegated Vinca Vine, which was an escapee from some plants I bought about 20 years ago to accent two tubbed Alberta Spruce. They have lovely little periwinkle-blue blooms in early spring, & every year I get to dig one up & use it to accent my door basket (see new profile pic).

Mumsey, sent me some Love in the Mist seeds a few years ago, and they come up everywhere every year. Love them. Borage, Columbine, Sunflowers, and the Toad Lily is spreading nicely from seed.

I planted Four O'Clocks for the first time last year and they are popping up all over this spring. And I have what initially was Wave petunias coming up thick in a northeast facing flower bed in the front of the house. This has been going on for several years now with the petunias.

I think this is my favorite plant that liberally reseeds. It just appeared one year and has been 'invading' more every year. The plant I have is blue and is so very pretty with its lacy leaves. In the front it's taken over one entire pathway in addition to other areas, and is so pretty I'm not going to remove it till it's finished blooming.

I have had a wild Columbine for years, no idea where it came from. This year the original plant is barely popping up, but another one has appeared a few feet away.
