Spam. I just received a PM with the same junk & reported it to Desert Woman. Looks like she PM'd it to several other people as well.

Aggressive , isn't she?! I am banning and deleting! Thank you!!!! I can only imagine where this would eventually lead if she was allowed to keep posting.

She has most likely PM every single listed member with this spam. As one of the mods said...what if it had been something more outrageous?! (Ill leaved that to your imagination!!) breezygardener ,

Hi All, Learned some new tricks today. I have now restricted a new member's ability to PM until they have posted at least x times (I can change this number if we all think it should be different. ) I wanted it to be enough to stop a first time poster but not too many so as to restrict a legitimate new member for too long. This has never been a problem before in 8 years we have been at this site, so it could be another 8 years but let's err on the side of caution. Also found a Forum Cleanup feature . I used that to delete all her PMs. I suspect she chose the PM feature to send her PM to all members. So if you got her PM could you let me know if it has been removed? Since I have not had to use this trick before, I'm curious as to how/if it works! breezygardener , gianna , pepperhead212 , martywny , emmsmommy lilolpeapicker

I have now restricted a new member's ability to PM until they have posted at least x times That is a great feature, can you do the same for posting links as well? Some of the groups I belong to do not allow links or prohibit them until you either get permission or get tenure in the group.

desertwoman, I didn't see any PM's, but I did notice in notifications that a 'I'm following you' was deleted around that time.

I deleted my PM as soon as I saw it, but that's good that you found that method for dealing with this. I did see that this spam was "following" me, but is gone now.

can you do the same for posting links as well? Some of the groups I belong to do not allow links or prohibit them until you either get permission or get tenure in the group. Are these groups on the Proboards network? I have not been able to find a way to limit links from new members. I've tried. However, the Mod Squad is diligent in removing newbie links and spam asap. One of us is usually here but sometimes it might take an hour or two while we are gardening or out and about! We delete and ban any new member who spams .We also have a welcome message when people join. It states, in part, that we do not support spam of any kind and it will be removed immediately. This includes links to websites, social media sites, and personal blogs.

Are these groups on the Proboards network? I believe they are on a different platform. I've only seen a few spammers here, you guys do a great job taking out the trash!
