Most people don't know what amprolium is and would therefor reject it out of hand. Probably would reject if you said you gave them calcium carbonate or worse, dihydrogen monoxide.You could avoid the problem if you are able to have the chicks vaccinated. You could also raise them without the starter and then treat the flock if and when they start to die. If no chickens were around before, that might not be for a few years.

Dihydrogen monoxide! Doesn't that cause oxidation on metal? A major component of acid rain? Isn't it true it's in every waterway already? ARGH!!!!

Yep, that's it. Found in cancer cells and many poisons are mixed with it. Yet it is legal to use in most states, although use is restricted in a few of them.
