Actually he has 2 hens but last year we gave 8 eggs to our hen and she hatched them all successfully. It also depends on the size of the hen and his are full sized ones and slightly bigger than mine.

How long can they be saved like that? Any special way to keep them?

I think it's 7-10 days. My first blue eggs were ordered online and shipped to me so they had to be a least a week old by the time I put them in the incubator. I didn't have a broody hen at that time.

When I came home this morning she was finally on the nest again. I let her be. When she left I checked the nest there were 2 eggs this time....I also moved the nest about 3 or 4 ft away from the door. She didn't go right into the nest but rather clung to the wreath for awhile. I think tomorrow I will move it a little further from the door on the side of the garage but closer to the back. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Did you move the nest while it was tucked into the wreath? Am I reading that right? That would be best way to do it, to not touch the actual nest, just the wreath.

I would have moved the whole wreath with the nest inside

Yes....I moved the wreath with the nest intact. It looks as if the nest came with it originally....and she just made herself at home there. I will get a pic tomorrow if possible.
