Another plant discovery on the grounds...the grape fern, or rattlesnake fern. First time I've seen them here.

Wheelgarden, Never heard of those, looks interesting! Is it a wild fern?

What happened to my post of yesterday? Just a query.

SpringRain🕊️ , I haven't seen your yesterday's post. Occasionally I think I've posted a response and when I look, later, it's not there. I just assume I mistakenly forgot to tap the reply button.

Mumsey , yes they are wild, and native to our area. Cool clusters of spore capsules on a foot-tall stem.

desertwoman , thanks. Maybe I just forgot to post after writing. Wheelgarden , I really like those ferns, especially the seed stalks. I was thinking they'd be nice additions to wreaths, tucked in amidst fall leaves. I've never seen so many seeds on ferns. Do the seeds grow on the same stalks as the ferns, replacing them when seed growth time arrives?

SpringRain🕊️ , the stalks are growing alongside the leafing clump --- kind of odd. No seeds, but many tiny spores in the clusters. They would look good in a wreath, or dry arrangement!
