I think I started it a little early! Too tall for lights so it's living on the kitchen counter. 2 ft tall! That thing in the middle is a rigged up fly strip to catch gnats. Works great.

Nicely done! How is it now? Do you have any plans about eating it in some way? I heard that somewhere in Asia they could even drink lemongrass juice! It's hard to imagine what type of equipment do they use to get a juice... Anyway, should try it to check

Mumsey, didn't you start a second batch, since that was way too early? I'm sure it did just as well, as that stuff is hard to stop! I didn't start any this season, as I still have a large amount in the freezer from last season.

donotuy, It has lots of shoots, all kind of floppy since they haven't been outside in "real" conditions. pepperhead212, Yes, the second batch is doing well also. I don't grow it as much for eating/cooking as I do for the ornamental value.

I did pick up another lemongrass plant as my overwintered ones evidently were neglected a little too much. I actually did find packaged lemongrass in the grocery store and searched through all the packages until I found one with the bottom of the stalk. It has rooted nicely and will soon be potted up and moved outside.

One of our farmers' market vendors has some Lemongrass plants. May have to pick one up next Saturday.

I once had a friend who gave me some cuttings from her quite large lemongrass bush. Unfortunately, they died, so she refused to give me anymore.

I've got four nice clumps, grown from seed. We love it. I used to have problems finding it in garden stores so I decided to cut out the middleman and do it my own self. It's as valuable to me for ornamental purpose as it is for mosquito repellent and culinary use. I like to have it at the entrance to the garden area.

Wheelgarden, will it overwinter in your climate or do you take it inside?
