I always had poor germination with spinach, then browrexx posted about priming seeds. I have had excellent spinach crops since. I'm going to continue to prime my seeds. Now if I could keep the aphids from taking over.

I have always had spotty germination with spinach so I am trying the priming. I got some seeds at Agway today and they are soaking as we speak. Will leave them overnight and plant tomorrow if they looks like they plumped up.
lilolpeapicker,Same here. I have some in a big pot on the deck. I cover it with netting and it was beautiful all last summer. Then I started noticing the aphids. At first I was able to just wipe them off. Then I sprayed them with soapy water, Then in a few days they were out of control and I ripped it all out. So I got a good crop most of the summer. I had some growing in the greenhouse last year too, but between the mice and chipmunks, I didn't get anything and moved it to a pot on the deck.
