you might try tomato cage. But not the ones they sell at stores that are too short and weak. Best cages I ever had were made from a roll of cement reinforcing wire. They were plenty tall.

Tomatoes. Get a variety that is not a climbing type. When it is about a foot tall cover the ground under it with cardboard. The cardboard keeps critters from the ground from eating holes in the bottom of the tomato.
