Some good ideas, except for the one about dipping seeds into red lead and paraffin. Not very organic, or safe. Also that one about using cyanide for whitefly. A bit of over-kill.

My mom had an organic garden when I was a child ..we would gather leaves in tarps for her compost pile from neighbors that didn’t use lawn chemicals...it’s crazy the toxic stuff home gardeners used. Our next door neighbor used some bad (cyanide?)stuff without any protection ..on her roses. Moms gardens were bountiful...

we would gather leaves in tarps I do that too! So easy to drag them over from a neighbor's yard. And I don't have to spend time/resources bagging them up.
