Recommended to me long ago, I've used it as a surfactant in garden sprays, and although I usually use water and a splash of white vinegar to clean harvested stuff, I've used Dawn in a pinch when needed. What exactly sets Dawn apart from other liquid soaps? I need to know for sure.

All I know about it is that it's what's used by environmental/wildlife rescue groups to clean petroleum products off of critters unfortunate enough to be victims of our oil spills.

It's the only one I have ever used. The original blue, not antibacterial. I clean birdbaths with it, outdoor pots. I've even used it on the dog in a pinch. I'm surprised Dawn isn't available in a dishwasher version.

A cup to a gallon of water is a good spray for wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, etc. if you need to rid yourself of a nest.

It also helps to wash your glasses with it, somewhat prevents fog up when wearing your mask. I put it in foam dispensers, 2/3 water, 1/3 Dawn.

"somewhat prevents fog up when wearing your mask."
I rode into town with my wife. She is going in the store shopping. I sit in car and watch people come and go. It is interesting to see people wearing masks. Not all, but maybe 49 out of 50 were wearing a mask. Some were wearing a mask as they came out of the store, then took it off as soon as they were outside and walking over to their car.
INTERESTING TIMES WE LIVE IN.......

Something that I use to prevent the steaming of safety glasses, when wearing a mask, is Rain-X. Figured that out long before covid, because the glasses in my workshop would steam up, which was not a good thing! I keep a small container of it down there, and it's lasted for years.
