I just found the first flower on one of my two plants in the front yard flower bed. That's late. Does your front yard bed get full sun? I suppose it's because you are surrounded by water, but your growing season is better than mine in some respects. First killing frost here last year was 12 November. Light frost may occur in the last quarter of October.

It's because I planted late and didn't set the seedlings out until late. Will have to start in a deep pot at the same time I start the earliest stuff. Now I'm retired, I should actually have time to plant out at the right time. This past season I was up half the night every night writing online type lesson plans and grading. Still, this year's garden has been the best ever.

Still, this year's garden has been the best ever. Same here...That's a good feeling to know, isn't it, though?
