you throw caution to the wind. I'd like to throw Mystery Seeds Hysteria to the wind, but since I can't, the best I can do is make comforting sounds to the panicked.

Could be as sinister as carrying bacterial/viral diseases of plants or animals or modified genes that would spread in the native population. Or could be a friendly, apologetic gesture after the flu, in which case, why not just include an enclosure that says so. Of course it might be that they are just messing with us for fun.

I've read numerous cautions as well. I haven't received any and certainly won't open them. But I think the basic question is why would someone in China send seeds to Americans, when those seeds hadn't been ordered? And how do the characters in the Chinese language translate? Are they a return address? Company? Individual? Where's Sherlock Holmes when he's needed?
