Reading another thread has got me wondering what everyones water bills are like during growing season?
Here at home we have a well and surface (acequia) water rights so we don't pay for water. (just a slightly higher electric bill for the well pump working more)
But our house in town, where our offices are, had a June water bill of $143- even with mostly xeriscape plants- and will go up even more in July-August- before starting to creep down in September. (this includes cooking, showers and laundry use for the couple who live in the main part of the house)

Should have mentioned that there are three people in the house and most of the bill is showers and the wash. Watered with the sprinkler once last month.

Our bill is a little over $45 a month based on 3000 gallons. We seldom go over though we may this month since I've been filling my daughter's wading pool at least twice a week and have filled the rain barrel twice in the past two weeks. I usually catch what rain water I can and recycle the pool water for the garden. Our main well was over 300 feet deep and the pump gave out not long after we had the municipal water installed. There is an old well probably 30 feet away from the garden that when I last checked it years ago, the water surface was 28 feet down. I have a bailer so could get water from it if I wanted and probably will start using it next year.

The water bill I paid yesterday was $26.30. About $2 of that was from watering the garden.

My irrigation water is separate from the culinary water. It comes from the reservoir down a canal then into a pipeline. Its $35 a year for my shares. I am irrigating a 2 acre lot.
The bill I get from the city is for garbage removal and drinking water: $52 year. I don't know how much of that is for water. The city does not break it down.

My city charges a minimum of $13 for the first 2000 gallons and then $2.83 for every 1000 gallons after that. Since my area is still experiencing drought conditions with little moisture so far this year, I expect to be getting charged for at least 30,000 gallons on this next bill, resulting in a water charge of around $90-$100. But the actual bill would also include charges for wastewater(sewer) and stormwater fees, resulting in a bill closer to $150.

30-40 dollars monthly. Good, clean, local ground-sourced water, although a bit hard. Long ago, I was the first in the neighborhood to get "city water" service, run by a local co-op. I had to retire my old well, but I do miss it.

We have a community well. The water quality is lacking and has arsenic but we can use as much as we like for $55 a month. We do have several water filters and an arsenic filter in-house.

Funny, I just paid mine last night (actually, set the account to pay it in a couple of weeks), but I couldn't tell you how much the water was, though I did use over their "minimum", wich is normal for this quarter. Most of the usual $142 I pay per quarter is sewer costs - only about $28 for water, but, plants are thirsty, in the summer, and especially this summer. Last year, up to this time we had so much rain that I didn't pay extra this quarter - something that almost never happens! I don't mind this, however, as there is little fungus out there on anything, unlike last year.
