Daffodils have been putting on a show for a couple of weeks and are still going strong. Grape hyacinths started blooming a couple of days ago. Fruit trees are getting close but not quite blooming yet. But a neighbors' fruit trees are in full bloom.

Lots of wildflowers out in the field --- asters, wax yellows, prunellas, false garlic, dandelions, blue-eye grass and others. Up closer to the house, Japanese irises, buttercups, and the red-hot pokers are numerous and in full show. Real perty.

Tomatoes! 2 varieties, plus 2 more with buds (that's only 4 out of 23 varieties). Also my regular chives, and Italian sage, but that's about it.

Peony buds are starting to show some pink color. I do hope they hold off blooming until this rainy spell passes. Our peonies don’t hold up well to rain.
Queen of Sweden rose has set flower buds...one of them will open in a few days, unless something eats it. This rose is in a pot and it spent the winter in the garage. I need to find a home for it.

Peonies are opening...both the ones that came from hubby’s childhood home and the white one that was here when we arrived in 1970.
Coral Reef poppy is setting some large flower buds...hope they have calm weather when they open. They just don’t tolerate wind/rain/heat.
Painted Daisies are blooming...don’t tell the local deer.
Q of S rosebud opened. I missed getting a pic, and her blooms blow out so fast. But, the fragrance was perfect.

Pink, purple and a kind of maroon color Columbine are blooming. They have popped up all over the place. First of the Peonies are blooming and the poppies have popped. Sure wish all these flowers lasted longer. Siberian Iris have lots of buds and there a are a few Bearded Iris that are almost done blooming. They are not my favorite flower, a neighbor gave them to us years ago, so they stay.

Lilacs, but one, Sensation, didn't bloom much at all. The other one, Little Kim, is blooming profusely. It's fragrance drifts to the street! Also have Columbine, Baptisia and Speedwell starting to bloom. The Baptisia looks the best it ever has, must be all the recent rain even though it's considered drought tolerant.
