Wheelgarden, do you have any picture of the Japanese white iris I have heard white flowers in general are not a popular color for gardens But I like them not en mass but scattered around the garden.

lilolpeapicker sadly, no. The pics I did have were lost in the Great Computer Crash a while back. The Japanese iris weren't as showy this year for some reason.

Almost time for the tiger lilies and asiatic lilies to bloom. There are tons of them this year, a real explosion in the number of mature stalks.

Day lily Stella D’Oro is blooming bright gold, hiding beneath the overhanging spruce boughs. I’m not fond of the color, but she still gets to stay. I did move her from a more prime spot. I think she likes her new digs.
Clematis...two varieties. Two of the purple Jackmanii and one of unknown . What I got is not what I thought I was purchasing. It grows, it flowers, but it’s kinda boring.
Roses...both pink. One in the flower garden and one by the front door. A third rose is still struggling beside the garden shed.
Delphinium...beautiful periwinkle blue. I grew this plant from seed some years back. I need to give it some love. I think it could do better.
Purple wave petunias growing on the deck. They have become a staple for me.
Asiatic Lily, almost ready to open. I moved it a few days ago because it was growing in the wrong spot. I feared the move might stress it, but no transplant shock was visible. And, I found a few extra corms and they got moved also. With some TLC, it might put on a bigger show next year.
Purple leafed Pentstemon...I think it may be the variety called Dark Towers...is just at the end of its bloom cycle. The bumble bees love it.
The flower garden is waiting for the blooms of more day lilies, tall phlox, Stargazers, Russian Sage, Rue, dahlias, marigolds, and zinnias.. All in good time. Mother Nature knows.
Garden peas are still blooming some. These may be the seeds for next year.
Tomatoes are blooming, a few have set fruit. I’m thinking this is not going to be a good tomato year for me.😟
Red Marconi peppers are blooming and have set some fruit. I have three more plants that were going to the compost pile, but may get planted today.
Taters are still blooming, but some of the blossoms dropped from age or rainfall.

A few garden pics this morning. This one is Summertime lettuce, an iceberg type, the only kind DH will eat. It's like the grocery store kind. More lettuce, Little Gem in the back, Paris Island Romaine in front. More lettuce and celery. It's a jungle out there! Leeks and struggling eggplant. They are perking up though. A few cabbage. Bright flowers! The garden guardian. She stands and stares in there a lot. Ornamental grass garden, slow this year. 2 big hosta, Guardian Angel and Earth Angel.

Not much blooming here, except the oregano is still flowering! Looking pretty naked out there. The green stuff in front of the straw bales are leeks. They will get transplanted in Spring. They are clumps of shoots now and will stay green all Winter. Under the snow or not. Lots of kale left!

Oct 10, had a hibiscus blooming, but it turned off cold and it is all over now. I suspect the next storm will bring snow. Have a great winter.

I let the broccoli go to bloom for the bees. There are asters and a few 4'o clocks blooming up front.

Daffodils are putting on a show. They handle the windy days of late March/early April so much better than my tulips. I could let the tulips die out, help them along their way. Perhaps I just need to snuggle them against an area with some protection. The winds just flatten them. One single red tulip is in bloom.
Redbud trees are a pink cloud down by the veggie garden. The redbud planted along the walking path around the back four continues to struggle. I hung a bar of Irish Spring bar soap on a post right next to it, but the deer still showed it some love during the winter. I’m thinking we just need to cage it until it gets some size to it. The two next to the garden are well above my head, but the one along the path is about belly button high. All were purchased at the same time.
Plum tree is about ready to burst in to bloom. I planted the suggested pollinator. The pollinator died. I can’t remember who died. They came from Starks. At one time, I would have planted another pair, but Starks never seems to have both varieties at the same time. So, I just gave up. Still, it’s pretty when in bloom.

My lovely and expansive Siberian Squills are blooming throughout the yard, and still moving into areas away from their original sites. Daffodils are in bloom as well, and I think the Trilliums are in bud but haven't gone back that far to check. I was surprised to see a few dandelions in bloom as well. binnylou, your post reminds me of the trees that were here when I moved in, but died out over the years. Most of them had insects when I moved in, and were already on their way to the fruit tree graveyard.
