I have seeds for Ha'Ogen and Old Original Israel melon.... They seem to be the same thing under a different name... has anyone grown both of them and can tell me the differences?

Sorry, I can't say. I can only suggest that you plant a few of both then later on you can report on the results.

By the way,in Hebrew ha means the and ogen means anchor, so melon sometimes called Ogen. Differences: Haogen : smooth rind; needs a long season; Hungarian origin but widely grown in Israel Old Original Israel Melon: Sparse netting; needs a longer season; larger www.houzz.com/discussions/1932565/need-info-on-haogen-dessert-melonDescriptions from Willhite seed Co. Israeli Old Original cantaloupe https: www.willhiteseed.com/0169One of our most popular varieties! 7-8 lb oval muskmelon with a unique flavor. Delicious and aromatic creamy white flesh! Yellow-orange rind, no ribs or sutures and sparse netting. People who want a first-class melon with a high sugar content that's about the most delicious melon they'll ever eat in their life will have to grow an Israeli melon. They are one of the highest in sugar content and are popular among home gardeners and specialty growers because of their flavor. Does not hold up for shipping. Israel Ha'Ogen Cantaloupe www.willhiteseed.com/0169An excellent tasting, beautiful early melon. Sweet, delicious, extremely juicy muskmelon with thick pale green flesh is pink around the small seed cavity. Very fragrant. Smooth, dark green thin rind turns golden with wide green sutures when ripe. Good yields of nearly round, 3-4 lb fruits.
