I took it upon myself recently to select some houseplants for my bedroom that aid in cleaning the air. Some might be top of the list, but a few I am not familiar with since they weren't on a list for best houseplants to clean your air. A pic to see the chaos in one corner of the room! but one plant I bought was very vague as to what it was? Can anyone ID it? I'm a newbie to the houseplant realm.

Looks like what is sold as a Parlor Palm.

I've bought house plants with that same tag. I think on the reverse there is a code, that if you have a smart phone, you can scan the code, and get more care instructions. I'm new to houseplants too. Started in November. And I can't imagine how I lived without them all these years!

Can that plant survive the winter outside in the northeast? I think I have one...looks almost like that one.

Every month or so, throw that baby into your shower and let tepid water rinse off the leaves...then leave it in there to drain and shake off excess..timesaver!

No, it will not survive outside. I have one that is getting pretty large, have had it since a tiny 6" plant that came in a living arrangement years ago. They do not require direct sunlight, a few hours of bright light and it's happy.
