Well you won't be seeing my Baptisia flowers. The plant seemed to perk up and quit wilting but the flowers are dropping off unopened. Oh well, I'll see them next year. At least I have the plant.

Yeah..they get very temperamental about moving once they've set buds. Best time to move is early spring? You should do fine. I have even seen them re grow and bloom later when it gets cooler. Almost like they got a false spring.

We went to a local farm and watched the farmer sheer the sheep and then card the wool and spin it...then we went back to school and dyed it using onions, wild geraniums for yellows, beets for dark pink red and blueberries for blue. It was a month long project and idk who enjoyed it more, the children or the teachers. One of our subs made a pair of mittens that the children drew straws for. I did not see this before. I followed everything except why onions are used? BR those daffodils are beautiful....it says at that website they are fragrant...let us know please!!!?

Pea...please take pictures! Where is the lupine fest? Onion skins are used for dyeing yellow. The color is a lighter shade then the wild geranium yellow.. There is a residence that has many daffodils and they let you photograph the hills and valleys..beautiful! My sister Kit in Dallas says that the bluebell season is in April and I've been asking her to send me pictures..

I don't know what kind of onion skins you use, but when I dye eggs with onion skins, they come out a glossy brown.

I just use an entire 5 lb bag of old regular yellow onions. Not the very outside cracking dry leaves, those I compost. just the ones that still have a bit of moisture left. I dice the onions and freeze them for cooking later.

There is a national preserve here in Albany, NY called Pine Bush Preserve. It is a large area that developers want to destroy and build up. But there is a butterfly whose habitat would be destroyed if it were to disappear...it is the Blue Karner

They told me that this lupine is the only natural lupine and I asked about all the other colorful lupines and I was told that those have been grafted by enthusiasts and are not natural...but I have seen pictures of these colorful lupines growing wild. So now I am confused. Anyway, I bought 8 plants to put in the ground here. And I was told not to put any fertilizer in the ground with it at all.
