Daffodils and hyacinths are blooming and tulips coming in right behind them.

Wave petunias have sprouted. They were moved from heat mat to a spot under lights this morning. They are so tiny, but once the seed germinates, they are pretty easy. And today, I see that a few of those purple wave petunias are starting to trail a bit.

My petunias are having a growth spurt too! I didn't plant them as early this year, and not as many since the JB seem to love them. I'll be having more lemongrass, parsley and basil as potted plants this year.

Only if the devas and fairies are helping martywny, Evidently, that is the case. Here they are at three days since I put the seeds in the dirt.

martywny, I always direct sow them, they sprout when the time is right! Usually a week or more depending on the temps.

did they have bottom heat? Yes, they are on heating pads and under 16 hours of light.

martywny, marigolds are fast little buggers, especially with bottom heat. Zinnias, too.

I've got Nigella and Coneflowers started in trays, and lots of Marigold, Rudbeckia, Zinnia, and Cosmos seed ready to go in...when the torrent of rain is over. ...and lo and behold, my big white Iris is back with several more of its family. Just now opening up. The usual blue and purple standard irises, as well as the white and purple Japanese are about to bust, too.

We're finally getting the weather to calm down a bit, we even had some snow last week but it quickly melted. I'm planning on growing a lot of flowers this year, some old favorites and a few new. I usually do try to get in as many flowers I can but I probably will try tucking some into the vegetable beds too. I am fortunate that I get a lot of bees into my yard so want to offer as many food sources to them as possible.

Wave petunias, sprouted 3/13, are showing flower buds. They are growing so fast, they go dry so fast. I really don’t want to move them to a bigger pot.

binnylou, Yes, mine are growing fast too and beginning to trail. They do dry out fast and I'm not repotting either.
