James, Good day here, James. (Thursday). In the 50s and pleasant. Not hot. Friday (now today) they call for temps in the 70s!! Too hot for me. I have to plant more onions tomorrow so I know I'll peel off a few layers of clothes. Enjoy that 35 degree weather! Theresa

There was a hint of spring in the air yesterday, but today we're back to winter. Snowing hard with several inches on the ground.

James, weedkicker, 500 onions in so far James. Too hot for me today --- 76ºF!! Weekend will be cooler (in the 50s) and much nicer for working. Weedkicker -- sure was nice to see that "space for rent" sign when I checked in tonight. Keep that snow up there in the high desert! Don't want it here --- although I would have enjoyed another few weeks of cooler weather rather than having it unusually warm. You guys have a great evening dreaming about spring. Theresa

I would go to the seed store and buy a bag of the onion sets, (little dry onions) and also get some onion seed. The sets made large onions , the seed make little green onions and if let go full season would make a small bulb about an inch in diameter.
Today 41 degrees and it has been raining.

Today 41 degrees, overcast, calm. No precip. No asparagus up yet. I pruned the grape vines. Come sit on my fat butt and play on the computer....

I didn't know you had grapes, James ... Our neighbors caddy-corner behind us used to have Concord grapes that would grow over the fence into our yard... They were good... Do you make jam or wine or just eat them...?... Tell us about your grapes...

Grapes: We eat some and pick some to take in and make juice. I have three vines and built a trellis for them. Went looking for a picture of them, but can't seem to find one.

ahntjudy, I planted Concords probably back in the 1980s; they've set fruit, but it never matures as it suddenly disappears. I suspect the local wildlife has decided to save me the task of picking them by gobbling them all up before I even get to see the mature fruit. They do produce wonderful grape vines though, and have contributed to dozens of wreaths that I've made.

" I suspect the local wildlife has decided to save me the task of picking them by gobbling them all up before I even get to see the mature fruit." You need to get a net you can throw over them. Perhaps a 12 gauge shotgun?

Hey James, Onions doing great here. Starting to really take off now. Have them in all stages. The ones that have already grown to spring onion size I can't resist pulling a couple each day. Beautiful day here too, but 63º instead of 37. Have a fantastic day! Theresa

I ought to go pick the asparagus, but it is raining, and I hate to go out in the rain.
