SpringRain, the coffee grounds are little hockey pucks and it took awhile to break them up before putting a light layer over the 10 raised beds. And yes, I used the wheelbarrow to haul them around back to the gardens. LOL

A few years ago I got a couple bags of coffee grounds from Starbucks. They made the car smell so good, I left them in there for awhile.

Coffee grounds from Starbucks are a great addition to the garden. The worms really appreciate the food. It is nice that Starbucks saves the spent grounds for anyone to use. All you have to do is stop by their place and ask.

Another year of no till, and the beds continue to get better. I just finished getting ready a bed in back where I'm going to put some cauliflower seedlings. The bed just had as a cover crop, some sunflowers I'd started from birdseed, and lots of nice grasses growing. Just now I pulled them and watered the soil. I would have preferred to clip everything at ground level, but with grasses, this just doesnt work. But there isn't that much disturbance. Next step is lay the soaker hoses, then cover the area with about an inch of compost. And then plant the cauliflower.
I absolutely love this way of gardening.

Another year of no till, and the beds continue to get better.....I absolutely love this way of gardening. Me too! Best gardening decision I've made in a long time. I'm now on year 4. (I think. I've lost track).

No till for a while, too. Just keep the tiller for starting new beds and digging up the chicken pen.
