I just planted more peas today, in conjunction with some cover crop seeds. The whole bed is about 18 ft long, and 4' across. I planted a 6 inch wide row right down the middle, with cover crop seeds of shorter plants of about 1 foot wide on each side of that. I didnt want to wait till the new seeds arrive Tuesday, so planted a snap pea with the number 141 in it's name, and the other half of the row, the English-type pea, Alderman.
I saw someone growing Alderman for pea sprouts, and it looks like a nice strong one. My seed was old, so we shall see. As soon as the peas start to germinate, I'll cover them with cages to keep the birds at bay. And hope nothing else wants them
